Michael S. Zavasky

Mike S. Zavasky, CPCU, CIC, ARe, serves as executive vice president of Insurance Operations at Erie Insurance Group, a regional property/casualty and life insurer based in Erie, Pa.  Mike oversees the Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and Customer Service Divisions.

Since joining Erie Insurance in 1977, Mike has held several positions, including claims adjuster, district sales manager, commercial underwriting manager, managing director of reinsurance operations, senior vice president & division officer of the Commercial Lines Division, and senior vice president of the Strategy Management Office.  

Mike graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with cum laude honors and is a summa cum laude honors MBA graduate from Pennsylvania State University.  At Penn State, he earned the Walker Award for scholastic excellence.  In addition, he has earned designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).  He also completed coursework with the Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTC).
