|
Our Criteria
|
The criteria used for selecting the "Top 100" includes:
- Statistics from the Insurance Institute for Highway
Safety (IIHS), including personal injury loss, driver death
rate, collision loss and
crashworthiness evaluations.
- Overall crashworthiness evaluation of good, acceptable or
marginal based on recent crash test data from the IIHS (Note: Not all
vehicles on the list were tested by the IIHS).
- A minimum front-driver and passenger air bags. Some models
are now equipped with side-impact air bags.
- Four-wheel antilock brakes are either standard equipment
or an extra-cost option.
- No rating increase has been assigned based on ERIE's Car
Experience rating (CER) program. This program rates vehicles based
on their overall physical damage loss experience.
- No performance car surcharge applies.

Discounts for safety features
|
Erie Insurance continues
to recognize the safety benefits of antilock brakes when used correctly.
In fact, we offer a 10% discount on some coverages if the vehicle is
equipped with antilock brakes on all four wheels.
