How do I learn how to use the electronic application system?

You can access instructions from the Job Openings page. Click on the How to Apply link at the top of the page.

I’m in the system, but I don’t want to complete a registration. Do I have to register to apply for a job?

You may view open positions without registering, but must register to apply for one.

I don’t have a resume. Do I need to submit one?

You are not required to submit a resume. However, providing one will better enable us to understand your qualifications. If you don’t have a resume, a resume-building wizard will help you to create one.

I’m not interested in any of the job openings, but would like to submit an application in case something comes up later on. Can I do so?

Yes. After you register, you may submit a general application for jobs that may open up in the future. Should a position come up that we feel would match your abilities and experience, we will contact you.

If I’m applying for a specific job, do I need to complete the general application as well?

No; you only need to complete one application for the specific position you’re interested in.

I completed an application. How do I know it went through?

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an electronic copy of it, including confirmation that it has been received by the Employment Department. If there is further interest in your qualifications, a member of the Employment Department will contact you.

I applied for a position, but want to apply for it again. Can I do that?

No. You can only apply for each position one time. However, if you need to update an open application, please contact Michelle Fetzner at (814) 870-2017.

Is the information I’m putting into the system safe?

Yes. The system is secure using the highest degree of encryption, so your data is safe.
