Online Bill Payment FAQs

What is One Time Payment Service?

One-Time Payment Service is a Web-based payment service that enables a customer to make a single payment for an Erie Insurance, Erie Family Life, or Flagship City bill online.

Is there a fee for this service?

Erie Insurance is pleased to offer this service free of charge.

Does this service require any special software?

There is no special software required to use the service.  All you need is a browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari.

What information do I need to pay my bill using the One Time Payment Service?

You will need to enter your ERIE policy or account billing number along with the ZIP code exactly as they appear on your bill.  You can find this information on a recent copy of your Erie Insurance, Erie Family Life, or Flagship City invoice.  You will also need to provide your name, address, e-mail address, and phone number.  You will need to enter your funding information such as your checking or savings account number, ATM/debit card, Visa, or MasterCard.

How do I know how much I owe?

The One-Time Payment Service entry screen may display your current balance, the amount of your next payment, and the payment due date.  This information may vary due to your policy or account status.  If your payment information does not display, please call Customer Service at 1(800) 458-0811 for assistance.

How do I know my payments are secure?

Your trust and online security are very important to us. This service uses state-of-the art encryption software and hardware to protect your information. For more information, view our Privacy Statement.

Can I use a debit card to make a payment?

Yes, you can use your debit card.  Your PIN is not required because this is a PIN-less debit transaction.  (Some banks may not allow a debit card to be used unless a PIN is entered.)

Can I use a credit card to make a payment?

Yes, you can now use your Visa or MasterCard credit card to make a payment.

How often can I use this service?

You may use this service to pay an Erie Insurance, Erie Family Life, or Flagship bill anytime.  Just access the Web site and enter all necessary information each time you choose to use the service.  You can make more than one payment on a policy per day as long as it is for a different dollar amount.  This is not a recurring bill payment service.

When is the payment actually made?

The payment transaction is made once you select the Authorize button on the payment screen.  You can modify your payment selection before selecting Authorize.  After clicking the Authorize button, you will see a payment confirmation screen.  Please remember to print this confirmation for your records, and if you are using a checking account, savings account, or debit card please remember to deduct the payment amount from your account records.

When will the payment be deducted from my bank account?

The amount will be deducted from your bank account as early as the next business day after you have initiated the One Time Payment service.  Payments made after 6 p.m. Eastern may take two business days to be processed.

Can I pick the date when the payment will be made?

No, all payments processed are for the current business day only.

Can I make a payment on more than one Erie Insurance account with this service?

Yes, but you must pay each account number individually.  You can make more than one payment on a policy per day as long as it is for a different dollar amount.

What if I need to modify or cancel the payment after clicking the Authorize button?

Clicking the Authorize button completes the transaction. You must contact Customer Service at 1-800-458-0811 to cancel or modify any pending payments. Please have your confirmation number available.

What does the confirmation on the screen mean?

It's verification of the date and time the information was entered and accepted. ERIE reserves the right to refuse a payment if your payments are not current, if your policy is lapsed, or if your policy is pending cancellation.  Please keep in mind that a credit to your account is dependent on ERIE's receipt of payment from your financial institution. If we do not receive payment from your financial institution (for example, because your account information is incorrect or your account has insufficient funds) your account will not be credited. Payments submitted after 6 p.m. EST may take an extra business day to process.

What do I do if I am having trouble with this service?

If you are experiencing problems with the service, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-458-0811.
