Kopec/Laurel Highlands Insurance Group provides its customers with auto, home, life and business insurances. The agency was originally established in 1985 in Masontown, Pennsylvania, and acquired by the current owner in January 2016.

Joseph Rettura, Jr., the principal agent at Kopec/Laurel Highlands Insurance Group, says that his agency is “small enough to know you, but large enough to serve you.”

In 1984, after graduating from college during a tough job market, Joseph told his girlfriend (now his wife), “The last thing I will ever do is sell insurance.” Joseph reminisces that he started selling insurance out of desperation. It turns out he was right; being an agent is the last thing he will ever do. He has a passion for selling insurance, and he loves it, going into the office every day with a smile on his face. “I’m not out there on the golf course,” he explains, “I’m on on-site business owner; there every day to help my clients.”

This location is run by agents Lud Kopec and Cristy Kopec-Franz. Lud has over 17 years of insurance industry experience.

The staff at the agency treats all clients as if they are the most important people in the world when they walk through the doors. The staff members pay attention to the details. They try to answer all calls within the first three rings and return voicemails within 15 minutes. The staff is exceptional at delivering personal service, which is one of the reasons Laurel Highlands Insurance Group won ERIE’s prestigious F.W. Hirt Quality Agency Award in 2015.

Ten out of 11 staff members are fully licensed, and the agency’s newest hire is already working on her P&C pre-licensing education. Together, the staff has over 200 years of combined experience. Each line of business has a “go-to” person who is the in house expert. They are friendly, competent, and above all, like family.
