Shrewsbury, PA Insurance Agency
Keeping It in the Family
Principal agent Joy Keller-Brown never thought she’d end up in insurance. After graduating with a business degree from Gettysburg College, her father persuaded her to give the family agency a try. The rest is history. Now she also holds a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, which helps her to provide customers with the best service and coverage possible.
Joy and her husband Jeff Brown have been business partners ever since the agency’s opening. Their daughter Sarah is currently in line to take over the agency as the next owner and principal agent. She’s the fifth generation to work in the family business.
To help meet the diverse insurance needs of her clients, Joy has a team of 16 staff members she relies on. The agency staff members are all licensed insurance agents who either have a professional designation or are currently pursuing one.
“They’re ‘professional worriers’ that way you don’t have to,” Joy jokes. “We strive to provide consistent exceptional experiences to our clients. When it comes down to it, helping people and lifting up our community is what an insurance career is about.”
Supporting the Community
Giving back to the local community is extremely important to the agency. The agency supports a variety of local charitable organizations including sponsoring a family through the Holiday Share Program for Southern Community Services, volunteering at the Shrewsbury Fire Company Carnival and volunteering for Animal Rescue. Joy, in particular, is involved with her church and a variety of nonprofit organizations that support human service needs. She also holds a variety of positions, ranging from member to chairperson.
