No Regrets Road Trip: Shifting Driving Behavior in Columbus (VIDEO)
Ah, the thrill of the open road. There’s nothing better than that moment when the sun is shining, you’ve got the car windows rolled down and your favorite song comes on the radio.
But that moment won’t last long if you give way to the many temptations – like texting or taking a call behind the wheel – that lead to distracted driving. What’s more, just because you’re following the rules doesn’t mean that the drivers around you are, too. (Can you believe that 4 percent of drivers admit to flossing or brushing their teeth on the road!?)
After kicking things off in Cincinnati, The Summer of No Regrets Road Trip rolls in to Columbus, Ohio, where our host Chris Laxamana practices important defensive driving techniques at the Mid-Ohio Grand Prix Driving School. The school was hosting an event on behalf of Maria’s Message.
Erie Insurance is a proud sponsor of Maria’s Message, an Ohio-based nonprofit that promotes defensive driving and educates about the dangers of distracted driving. The organization is named in memory of Maria Tiberi, the daughter of central Ohio TV sports anchor Dom Tiberi, who tragically lost her life at age 21 in a distracted driving crash.
Do you know how to drive safely on a waterlogged road or recover from a skid? Brush up on these skills and more in this video.
Next, we're off to Erie, Pennsylvania - the birthplace of Erie Insurance - to check out the Roar on the Shore motorcycle rally.
