With the Superbowl behind us, the focus is now on the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. This is one worth watching thanks to the debut of six new sports: freeskiing, snowboarding, figure skating team event, women’s ski jumping, biathlon mixed relay and luge team.

It’s anyone’s guess whether the new additions will be around for the long run. Many of the sports introduced in past years are no longer part of the games. And that might be a good thing because many of them were downright bizarre. (Ski ballet, anyone?)
