ERIE Helped Brighten the Holiday Season for Tornado Victims

After responding with quick and compassionate claims service and boxed lunches, ERIE continued to lend a helping hand to the residents of tornado-ravaged Washington, Ill., this holiday season.

On Dec. 11, ERIE Agents and Employees teamed up to serve a special holiday dinner to more than 250 residents. The gathering proved to be a welcome respite from a collectively trying time—and more than a little emotional since many guests had not seen each other since the immediate aftermath of the storms.

The Illinois Branch office, which is located just 15 minutes from Washington, donated the funds they typically allocate for their holiday party to buy toys for the children attending the dinner. An ERIE district sales manager later donned a Santa costume and distributed the gifts to wide-eyed children.

ERIE also presented a $25,000 check to the local Red Cross chapter at the dinner.

“We want you to know we’re standing with you,” said Vice President and Regional Claims Officer Pat Burns.
