To help storm victims during the recovery process, we’re also extending certain deadlines.
Deferred Billing Payments
Illinois Customers in the any of the counties that have been declared disaster areas will have the option to defer their payments for up to 60 days. To request a bill payment extension, please contact your ERIE Agent or Customer Service.1
Extension for Claims Repairs
Illinois Customers who live in or insure property in any of the counties that have been declared disaster areas will have an additional 60 days to meet claims-related requirements such as submitting details about the loss, reporting information, completing repairs or submitting bills.
Suspension of Policy Cancellations
During this difficult time, ERIE will withdraw any insurance policy cancellation or nonrenewal notice that was issued, or will become effective, on or after Dec. 29, 2016, for Illinois Customers who reside in or have property located in any of the counties that have been declared disaster areas. Those policies will continue with no lapse in coverage. ERIE also will not issue any new cancellation or nonrenewal notices to the affected Customers, or the concerning affected property, before Feb. 29, 2016.
