ERIE, Pa. (March 20, 2020) – Erie Insurance today announced a lead gift to support a new COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund recently established in Erie, Pennsylvania. The fund, launched by the Erie Community Foundation, will provide grant dollars to support nonprofit organizations helping local residents impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
ERIE partnered with the Erie Community Foundation, United Way, Hamot Health Foundation and Highmark/Allegheny Health Network to raise $285,000 in lead gifts to encourage additional donations from the general public.
“For 95 years, Erie Insurance has been doing the right thing,” said Christina Marsh, chief community and economic development officer at Erie Insurance. “We continue to support the communities where we live and work, especially during these unprecedented times.”
The COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund will directly support 501(c)(3) organizations in Erie County, Pennsylvania that are providing food to those in need, administering care for children, serving elderly populations who are most vulnerable and helping those suffering hardships and job loss due to COVID-19 pandemic. Erie Insurance is headquartered in Erie, Pennsylvania.
“We encourage the community to join us in our efforts to provide stability to those most vulnerable at this time,” Marsh added.
