Forbes recognizes Erie Insurance as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers for 2023

ERIE named one of Pennsylvania’s best employers in Forbes annual ranking

ERIE, Pa., Aug. 28, 2023 – Erie Insurance (ERIE) has been named to the Forbes list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2023. ERIE is ranked among the top 20 employers in Pennsylvania in the list compiled by Forbes and Statista Inc., a leading global statistics company.

“It is an honor to be recognized for the fourth straight year as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers for Pennsylvania,” said Karen Skarupski, Erie Insurance’s senior vice president of Human Resources. “At ERIE, we strive to listen to our employees to understand what’s most important to them, and then apply what we learn to continue evolving our culture and enhancing the employee experience.”

Founded in 1925, Erie Insurance’s home office is in Erie, Pennsylvania. ERIE also has claims and branch locations across the Commonwealth, including Allentown, Harrisburg, Johnstown, Murrysville, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. In total, ERIE operates in 12 states and the District of Columbia.

Forbes and Statista ranked employers across the country based on an independent survey of approximately 2.1 million employees working for U.S. companies employing at least 500 people. Employees rated their willingness to recommend their employer to family and friends and gave opinions on working environment, diversity, compensation, potential for development and company image. Those participants also evaluated other employers in their respective industry and state. The Best-In-State awards list can be viewed on the Forbes rankings website. 

Erie Insurance was also awarded the distinction of being one of only four U.S.-based insurers named to all three of Forbes 2023 World’s Best Insurance Companies lists for auto, homeowners and life insurance.
