ERIE honored among top U.S. companies for its commitment to an inclusive workplace
Erie Insurance (ERIE) has been named to Newsweek’s 2023 list of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity. ERIE achieved Newsweek’s highest possible 5-star rating and was recognized among 1,000 U.S. companies that employees say respect and value diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
“Treating others with dignity and respect has been at the heart of ERIE’s values for nearly a century,” said Christina Marsh, ERIE’s chief diversity and community development officer. “We’re thrilled that this recognition further highlights the determination of our team to live our values and create a positive and lasting impact as an insurer, employer and community partner.”
According to Gwendolyn White, ERIE’s vice president for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Erie Insurance is focused on advancing DEI and enhancing an already welcoming culture that values and allows individuals to be successful in their careers. “It’s because of workforce training programs, community and university partnerships, employee-led business resource groups and nationally recognized affinity networks, strong partnerships with our independent agents and investments in our communities that we are encouraged to keep learning, growing and cultivating an environment that we’re all proud to be part of,” said White.
Newsweek and data firm Plant-A Insights created the list by gathering public data and anonymous employee survey responses from companies with 1,000-or-more employees.
Respondents were asked about corporate culture, proactive management of a diverse workforce, sustainability and awareness, compensation and benefits, training and career progression, work-life balance, working environment and company image. The survey yielded more than 350,000 company reviews. The 1,000 highest-scoring employers were selected for the list.
ERIE also recently earned recognition on Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces for 2023 and America’s Best Customer Service for 2024.
