ERIE leader brings more than two decades of insurance experience to central Pennsylvania role
Erie Insurance (ERIE) has named Joel Reeder vice president and manager of its Harrisburg, Pennsylvania branch, effective Jan. 8.
Reeder replaces Harrisburg Vice President and Branch Manager Glenn Kricher who retired after 22 years with Erie Insurance.
Reeder began his insurance career in claims at Progressive Insurance before joining ERIE in 2008. Since then, he has held several leadership roles in claims, including material damage appraiser, zone supervisor and liability supervisor. In 2021, he was named senior district sales manager and later served as interim Harrisburg branch manager for six months in 2024.
“Joel brings a strong understanding of our business and our agents, built through years of leadership across Claims and Sales,” said Leah Micholas, vice president and regional officer, Northeast Sales Region. “His experience and steady approach will serve the Harrisburg branch well as he steps into this role.”
Reeder earned a bachelor’s degree in history and public administration from Shippensburg University. Reeder currently serves as president of the Central Pennsylvania Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Chapter and holds multiple industry designations, including Associate in Claims–Management, Legal Principles Claims Specialist, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Certified Insurance Counselor.
