Support for Indiana Customers Affected by Covid-19

ERIE is offering special accommodations for affected Indiana Customers in all counties within the state.      

We hope that these measures will be helpful during this difficult time.

Policy Cancellations and Billing

ERIE will withdraw notices of cancellation for nonpayment of premium effective on or after March 19, 2020.  We will also refrain from issuing any new notices of cancellation for nonpayment of premium to affected Customers until May 18, 2020.  While ERIE will continue to mail their billing notices, we won’t issue non-pay cancellations at this time. 1

Other Policy Extensions

Although the moratorium focuses on payment hardships, ERIE is also granting extensions on any policy provisions or other requirements that impose a time limit for an insured or claimant to perform any act, including submission of a claim, proof of loss or reporting information.

Additionally, as an accommodation to our policyholders, if repairs on an affected property cannot be completed within the time period required under any policy, ERIE will provide the Customer with a reasonable extension.  This includes repairs requested by ERIE’s underwriting department as a condition of the renewal of a policy.
