If you suffered damage or disruption due to the recent severe weather and flooding, we want you to know that ERIE is here for you. Whether you need information about how to start a claim or more time to pay a bill, we can help.
ERIE is offering special accommodations for affected Kentucky Customers who reside in or own property in the following counties affected by the severe weather and flooding on May 16, 2025: Clay, Laurel, Pulaski and Russell.
We hope that these measures will be helpful during the recovery process.
Policy Cancellations and Billing
For Customers in the affected counties, ERIE will withdraw notices of cancellation effective on or after May 16, 2025 through June 17, 2025 (the "moratorium period"). ERIE will also refrain from issuing any new notices of cancellation to affected Customers until June 17, 2025. ERIE will also provide Policyholders with the option of deferring their premium for 30 days, if necessary. While ERIE will continue to mail billing notices, we won’t issue non-pay cancellations at this time.1
If you need to defer your payments, please contact your local ERIE agent or call Customer Care at (800) 458-0811, ext. 3000.
If you have a question about how to start a claim or need to speak with a representative about a previously reported claim, please call (800) 367-3743 for support 24/7.
Non-Renewals
In addition, per the state’s directive, ERIE will suspend issuing notices of non-renewal to Customers in the affected counties during the moratorium period. ERIE will also withdraw notices of non-renewal to Customers in the affected counties with effective dates during the moratorium period.
Other Policy Extensions
ERIE will grant extensions on any policy provisions or other requirements that impose a time limit for an insured or claimant to perform any act, including submission of a claim, proof of loss or reporting information.
If repairs on an affected property cannot be completed within the time period required under any policy, ERIE will provide the Customer with a reasonable extension. This includes repairs requested by ERIE’s underwriting department as a condition of renewal of the policy.
Support
ERIE also will consider accommodation requests from customers who have been affected in counties surrounding those specifically named above.
ERIE will work with our customers and may grant extensions on policy provisions or other requirements that impose a time limit for an insured or claimant to perform any act, including submission of a claim, proof of loss or reporting information, or completing repairs within the time period required under the policy or requested as a condition of renewal of the policy.
1If you are an affected Customer who needs to temporarily defer your payment, please be advised that the temporary accommodations provided by ERIE as a result of the State Bulletin do not relieve you of your responsibility for paying the premiums due under your policy when the directive ends.
