Getting Car Accident Damages Estimated

You’ve been in an auto accident and filed an auto insurance claim, what next? We have several options to meet your needs.

You’ve been in an auto accident, filed an auto insurance claim, and now your vehicle needs to be repaired. We have several options to get you back up and running as soon as possible. You always have the choice to work with any auto repair shop that you trust for the inspection, damage estimate and repairs.

Photo Appraisal Process

ERIE’s photo appraisal process is fast and convenient. There’s no need to get an estimate from an auto body repair facility or wait for a claims appraiser to make an appointment to inspect your vehicle. A text or email to our photo appraisal tool will be sent, which will walk you through the process of capturing photos and a short video of the vehicle damage.

Once photos are uploaded, we will prepare your estimate and will typically contact you within 48 business hours to discuss your settlement and if you are eligible for ePayment1.

Direct Repair Program

We have a network of auto repair shops, collision businesses and dealerships through our Direct Repair Program (DRP). These businesses will estimate the damages, share the information with us and fix your vehicle. The DRP shops offer workmanship warranties, and they’re included in our program based on specific criteria for training, equipment and professionalism. If you would like to participate in our DRP program, find an auto repair shop near you. Our DRPs will be your point of contact and ERIE will be working in the background with your shop of choice.

Field Inspection

With a field inspection, a claims representative will arrange the date, time and location to inspect the vehicle.

Total Loss

If your car has severe damage, it may be deemed a total loss. In order to expediate please endure you have the title and/or lienholder account information readily available.

Our glass claims service will connect you with the repair business of your choice or one that is associated with ERIEGlassSM, a network of more than 8,000 qualified professional repair and replacement glass shops that are affiliated with Safelite® Solutions.
