Built-In Extras

Pet coverage

If your pet gets hurt in an accident while riding in your car, we'll help cover vet treatment costs. (Up to $500 per pet, total limit $1,000.)


Personal item coverage

With physical damage coverage, we’ll help cover clothing, luggage and personal belongings (up to $350) that are inside a car that we insure.


Windshield repair

If a damaged windshield can be fixed rather than replaced, you won't have to pay your comprehensive deductible.



Rental car expenses

Rental car expense coverage is included with comprehensive coverage and can be added easily to collision coverage.


Locksmith services

When you accidentally lock your keys in your car, we’ll cover the locksmith costs up to $75. It’s part of our physical damage coverage.

ERIE offers multi-policy discounts from 14% to 30%, depending on your state, when you insure your auto and home with  us.1 Ask about ERIE’s multi-policy discount and other discounts to see what you could save.

Featured Ways to Save*
If you’re a safe driver with a good driving record, you could get a discount on your auto coverage.
If we insure two or more of your cars, you could qualify for a discount. (All the vehicles in your household must be owned and used by the driver we insure.)
If you’re not using your car for at least 90 consecutive days during the policy period, you could be eligible for a discount. (Not available in Kentucky.)
You can save on your insurance coverage if your car is equipped with safety equipment like factory-installed air bags, anti-theft devices and antilock brakes. (Not available in Kentucky.)
You can save by paying your auto premium in one lump sum.
A discount is available if you have a qualifying life insurance policy or home policy in addition to your ERIE auto insurance. (Not available in New York.)
Unmarried drivers under 21 who reside with their parents could be eligible for additional savings. (Not available in North Carolina.)

First Accident Forgiveness2 Yes, no surcharge the first time you're at fault in an accident after you have been a customer for three years. Costs extra.
Diminishing Deductible Yes, reduced by $100 for each consecutive claims-free policy year, up to a maximum of $500. Sometimes available and costs extra.
 Bundled Coverages Yes, you can expand your auto coverage for just pennies a day. (Great buy, especially if you own several cars.) Stand-alone feature with per vehicle fees.
Transportation Expense

Yes, with comprehensive coverage. Additional days of coverage are available after settlement. Add it to collision coverage and pick from five classes of rental car options.4 Read more about rental car expense coverage.

A daily dollar limit and the payment ends upon the settlement.
Road Service
Yes, reasonable towing and required labor costs at the site where your car breaks down.5 Learn more about emergency road service coverage. Typically, only up to a certain dollar amount.
New Car Protection

Yes, If your new vehicle (up to 24 months old) is a total loss after an accident, it will be replaced with a new vehicle of the latest model year.6 Read more about new and used car replacement.

Limited. It may only be available for the first year after the vehicle is purchased. With ERIE, it’s up to two years.

Better Car Protection Yes. If your car (24 months+) is totaled, it can cover the balance of an auto loan (but not carry-over balances), or it can replace an older car with a vehicle two years newer.6 Limited. The coverage replaces your older car with a vehicle just one model year newer. ERIE replaces with a model two years newer.
Additional/Replacement Autos or Trailers Yes, automatic coverage to the end of policy period on the owned vehicles that we insure. Usually limited to only 30 days.
Miscellaneous Vehicles Yes. When you insure a miscellaneous vehicle like a motorcycle with us and you buy a second one (has to be a similar type), automatic coverage applies to the end of the policy period.
Usually limited to only 30 days.
Coverage for Non-owned Autos Yes, covers cars, moving vans (used for personal use), trailers or temporary substitutes. Usually doesn't include moving vans.
