The rubber hit the road…or in this case, the shovel hit the dirt on March 10, when Erie Insurance broke ground on a previously announced seven-story office building in downtown Erie, Penn. Community leaders and neighbors were on hand as ERIE executives took the symbolic first step on the project.
“We’re creating a workspace designed for employees to continue delivering exceptional service to our employees and agents,” explained Tim NeCastro, CEO of Erie Insurance. “It’s a proud investment in the community we call home. Helping to create and sustain a vibrant Erie community is essential to the well-being of the people who live and work here.”
The 346,000 square foot, LEED-certified building is designed for the 21st Century workplace, with large open floorplans, a roof-top terrace, vegetated roofs, a courtyard and large collaboration areas.
Construction is expected to last three years.
