About the Foundation

Built upon the strong example of Erie Insurance and its 100 year history of supporting communities through dedicating time, talent and resources, the Foundation was formed in 2025 to create long term sustainability for ERIE’s collective giving and grantmaking.

Our Mission

Guided by our service-first values, the Erie Insurance Foundation supports organizations and initiatives that strengthen communities, advance safety, and promote environmental stewardship across the Erie Insurance footprint.

Governance

The Foundation is an independent private charitable organization with a dedicated board and officers who oversee investment management, charitable strategy and grant decisions. Day‑to‑day operations are led by the Foundation’s President in collaboration with Erie Insurance’s Community Outreach team.

How to Request Funding

Confirm eligibility, geography and alignment to our focus areas before applying.

Outline goals, timeline, budget and outcomes. Share how your work will benefit people where Erie Insurance’s customers, agents and employees live and work.
Step 3: Submit online
Eligible organizations can submit anytime for requests under $25,000. Larger requests are accepted ahead of scheduled review cycles.
Step 4: Decision and follow-up
We’ll contact you if we need more information. Awarded partners receive clear reporting guidance and support.
