When you need us, we’re here.

Accidents happen. We understand and when we say we’re here for you, we mean it. Your renters claim will be handled with personalized service as quickly as possible.

What can I expect if I have a renters insurance claim?

Here’s what you can expect during a covered claim:

Quick response

Whether it’s an evening, weekend or holiday, or just your typical Tuesday afternoon, we’re standing by. In your time of need, an ERIE representative is always there to answer your call and talk you through the claims process.

Expert employees

We know experiencing a claim can be overwhelming. But you can rest assured, your claim will be in very capable hands. ERIE employees are specially trained to handle renters claims and give you the best possible claim experience.

Claims status updates

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you can always stay up to date on your claim. The power is in your hands with ERIE’s mobile app, where you can see what’s happening with your claim from your phone, computer or tablet. Sign up or access your ERIE online account by visiting erieinsurance.com/account and download the ERIE app via your smartphone’s app store.

Communicate your way

Need to talk with us about your renters insurance claim? We have people ready to answer your call. Prefer texting? Or email? Just let us know. We know you’re busy and we want to communicate the way you want to communicate.

Rapid claims settlement

If you have a Visa® debit card or a Zelle® account you may be able to receive payments electronically in minutes.1 Ask your claims adjuster to see whether your claim qualifies.

Language interpretation service

For customers and claimants who speak English as a second language, ERIE offers a language interpretation service to assist with communication using their preferred language. The interpretation service puts an interpreter on the line who can communicate with the caller and respond to the ERIE representative.

Emergency response team

We know how important it is to get things back to normal after a weather-related disaster strikes your hometown. That’s why ERIE has dedicated teams of claims adjusters who respond to catastrophic claims. They are specially trained to handle weather-related claims and are sent to your community immediately following a weather event. Depending on the severity of the event, you may see our CAT (catastrophe response) vans in your town. These mobile claims offices are staffed by ERIE representatives to help you begin getting your life back to normal.

If you need to file a renters insurance claim, you can rest easy knowing ERIE has your back. We know every circumstance is different, so we don’t work from a one-size-fits-all formula. You can expect a response with personalized solutions and know we will be with you during every step of the process.
